The state attorney general’s office provides a collection service that some local entities might not be aware of, even though it’s been around for seven years and could help them recoup public funds.
Natalie Fravel, Delaware County Common Pleas Court clerk, learned about the program last year during a meeting of the Ohio Clerk of Courts Association. Knowing that her office had almost $400,000 in uncollected court costs, she thought it was worth trying, even though the court already was using a private debt-collection service.
